My name is Cora-Jade Henry and i was born in Mansfield on July 14th, 1998.
Every since i was a little girl, i have been very passionate about the art side of things as i have always been very creative with ideas.

From a young age i was always chose to take part in tasks at High Oakham Primary School such as; Designing play sets for the school, Wall pictures, Designs to put up around the school and many more which were all based around art. While i was at High Oakham, i won two competitions, one that was designing a new dinning hall for our school, for this i had to design the walls, what design for patten they would have on they to make the room more bright and enjoyable for the young pupils, the table and chairs, which i designed the chairs to be all attached together so that is was more safe for the pupils to walk around and for them to be the same colours as our team houses for sports days and assemblies. For the second competitions, it was creating a poster for DARE to be put up all around the schools in nottinghamshire. I won money towards the school, £40 gift vouchers and a picture and article of me in the CHAD.

                                                                                                                                                                   Examples of my work:

For our first project, we got assigned to create a animation set. We had the choice to base it around any idea so in which i chose a farm animal setting. I used many different ways of creating my sene such as my trees were made out of a wire frame which was then covered in plaster bandage over the top. Then once they had dried, i painted over the plaster to create a wood effect and then i used tissue paper to be used as the leaves.

To make my animation set, i had to create something for my figures and trees to stand on so i created stage look out of grey board. I used grey board as it isn't flimsy, its quiet strong, so this was ideal for my base to my set.

I also started off with using clay to create my farm animal figures, this was because once they had dried, they didn't move and are harder to damage. Some were made out of just cray and the other were made out of a wire frame and then filled and covered with clay.

After i played around with making my clay models, i moved onto plastercen models as i found out that i could be move creative with them. The down side this was that they were easily damaged, therefore i had to keep putting them back together if the fell apart or broke. I made these models half with a few bits of wire inside to help the arms and legs ext to stop breaking, and then covered in plastercen.

For my next project, it was based around cyberbullying and making people more aware of it. For the start of our project, we was asked to create some sort of information card which people could pick up and take home with them to read. At first, i struggled with the task as i didn't really know much about the whole bullying area but i started doing some research and getting a few ideas. I wanted to do something that wasn't obvious that it was about cyberbullying, i wanted to do something that caught peoples eye so that there there eger to pick it up and have a read.

My next task was to create a poster but by using one of my drawings out of plastles as the main focus, so i chose the one were it was a picture of a phone to represent cyberbullying, with the reflection of a girl dealing with cyberbullying the way she thought was the best way to become free from it all.

Skills:

From taking part in this course i have learnt many different skills to help me complete my different tasks which will help me later in life.

Monty Python

Monty Python, sometimes known as The Pythons, were a British surreal comedy group, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, who created their sketch comedy show 'Monty Python's Flying Circus', that first aired on the BBC on October 5th, 1969.

Graham Chapman was born in Leicester and studied medicine at Cambridge and St. Bartholomew's, but he first participed in Cambridges footlights club, where he met and partnered with John Cleese which then led to his touring in New Zealand with 'Cambridge Circus'. Comedy overtook his medical career so Chapman and Cleese together wrote for "That was the week that was", "The frost report", "At last the 1948 show", "Marty" and "How to irritate people".

John Cleese was born in Weston-Super-Mare in North Somerset. Cleese studied law at Cambridge University, where he also wrote and performed in Cambridge Footlights revues with medical student Graham Chapman. He escaped a projected career as a solicitor by accepting an offer to write for BBC Radio. Cleese later worked on the pun-filled radio sketch show, "Im sorry, i'll read that again", which led to writing and starring in David Frosts's "The Frost Report" where he met fellow writers Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Eric Idle.

Eric Idle was born in South Shields in Northern England. Idle was president of Footlights at Cambridge University and was the first to allow women into the theatrical club. He appeared on stage in "Oh! What a lonely war" contributed to the BBC Radio series "Im sorry, I'll read that again", and worked on "The Frost Report" and "We have ways of making you laugh" which also featured cartoonist Terry Gilliam. He later invited Terry Jones and Michael Palin and eventually Gilliam to join him on "Do not adjust your set".

Terry Gilliam was born and raised in Minneapolis and Los Angeles, Terry Gilliam's youthful enthusiasm for drawing cartoons infused his academic life and his streak of anti-authoritarianism. His early knockabout career, as a magazine illustrator and art director in L.A. and New York City in the 1960's, allowed him to cross paths with "Cambridge Cricus" starr John Cleese, who he featured in a "Help" magazine photo essay about a man's lust for a Barbie doll.

Terry Jones was born in Colwyn Bay, Wales. Among the Pythons, was an enthusiastic and passionate driver of the group. He has pursued perhaps the broadest range of artistic and intellectual pursuits, from writing and preforming to directing from comedian and childrens book author to Middle Ages scholar from documentary host to political columnist. Jones teamed up with fellow Oxford student Michael Palin to write and perform revues for the University's theatre club.

Michael Palin was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Michael was a student of history at Oxford, where he wrote and performed in theatrical shows with Terry Jones. The two became writing partners whose TV credits included "The Frost Report", "Marty", "Do not adjust your set" and "The complete and utler history of Britain".
